The Faubourg.

HIDDEN BEHIND roadworks and renovations, on the busy highstreet style Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine homed in the 11th Arrondissement, with the eyecatching Bastille monument at the end of the road were signs on lamp posts advertising a vente privée – private sale.

At first, I was hesitant to enter the shady front door, hidden behind scaffolding into a entrance hallway that lead from the front of the building up wooden stairs to this vente privée, nonetheless curiosity got the better of me. In we peeked, into this gorgeous wooden beamed country-cottage style décor apartment and we were welcomed with open arms to this private sale. To our {advantage?} the mother and owner of this gorgeous apartment was a friendly Australian woman who pottered in the kitchen whilst her son Minh LE explained to us in a mixture of both English and French the ideas behind their sale and the business. TheFaubourg.com

The concept behind the pop-up vente privée was to create awareness of their on-line boutique which started in 2013, selling the clothes and accessories of young creators and designers, allowing people like myself the ease of shopping for and buying original, new and trendy clothing without having to roam the streets of Paris. The website itself says that the concept is naturally born from the desire to provide a platform for meetings between amateur fashion designers and young talents.

The clothes and jewellery from TheFaubourg.com were very chic and Parisian...meaning plain colours and simple detailing. My favourites on the racks were the range of soft woolly jumpers, perfect for the super chilly days we've been having; the small boxes of friendship style bracelets by Ladey Bijoux that simply wrap around your wrist and the cute selection of bags that were beautifully displayed on the grand piano - I was simply in love...

Had I have not paid my {not so cheap} Parisian apartment rent just a few days before, I would/could have spent a lot of money! Lucky I can take a peek on-line any time I fancy!

The Faubourg now deliver to a wide selection of countries and not only France, so there's no excuse not to take a look yourself. If you hurry now you'll catch the end of the winter sales! http://www.thefaubourg.com/

Happy Shopping!
