Just touched down in Toulouse town...

Final call at gate 12, Gatwick airport. London to Toulouse. Seats upright, tray tables folded, bags under the seat.

Ladies and gentlemen we are currently 155 miles from Toulouse Blagnac airport, travelling at 33,000 feet above ground, the local time is 14:45 and the temperature is 21 degrees. We will shortly commence descending.

Bienvenue à la ville rose.

After 7 hours of travelling (door to door) we finally reached our destination. Having only had a snack on the plane, we decided to dump our bags in the room and go and explore, to find out what food shops were open (it's a Sunday in a religious city - figure the odds!) So we braved the Metro, took the ligne A and hopped off at Jean Jaurès. After walking up and down streets filled with restaurants, all the supermarchés and Carrefours appeared closed. So we ventured down some of the smaller back streets (bad move!) full of strange Toulousain men and halal shops and finally came across a small market shop that would to the job for dinner. After much deliberation of what to buy we decided to that we wanted to be 'french' and manger le boursin, le baguette et le chorizo....mmmm. So we slowly counted out our euros onto the till point and journeyed 'home'. Enough exploring and speaking French for one afternoon so it was bon apetit et bon nuit.
